Visiting Teachers Programme

Visiting teachers work between three and five years in primary and secondary schools, mainly teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language or other subjects in Spanish. The terms of the collaboration, which include working conditions similar to those teachers of the country, are established by an agreement with the Ministry.

Since its inception in 1986, 15.000 teachers have taken part in it. It is one of the most successful initiatives for the dissemination of the Spanish language and culture abroad. Currently the countries participating in the program are the United States, Canada, Ireland and China.

This program offers a magnificent opportunity for professional development and growth, which has a very positive impact on the Spanish school system they join after their return.
