Professional Development for teachers of Spanish

The Spanish Ministry of Education runs summer courses and online courses with the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) and the National University of Distance Education (UNED) as collaborating institutions. In both modalities, the activities are mainly aimed at foreign teachers at non-university levels who teach Spanish as a foreign language or other subjects in Spanish.

Training courses in the countries of origin are also managed by the Spanish Ministry of Education, as well as the Europrof programme, in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute, for the training of teachers of other foreign languages as ELE teachers.

The different Education Offices organise face-to-face and virtual courses, taught by specialists in the field, in collaboration with other institutions (Instituto Cervantes, universities…).
