Shared ownership schools have an autonomous financial status and are governed by a board operated by the respective agreements and by internal regulations.
There are currently two shared ownership schools: Miguel de Cervantes Spanish-Brazilian Schools in São Paulo (Brazil) and Parque de España School in Rosario (Argentina), run by a Spanish headteacher who shares their responsibility with a local headteacher, appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Education.
These schools can follow the Spanish and local curriculum with a balanced component of Spanish language and culture. At the end of their schooling, the students obtain the Spanish Secondary Education or High School Certificate and the national one.
