International Spanish Academies (ISA)

The International Spanish Academies (ISA) are Spanish bilingual sections in North American schools of recognized academic excellence. The general aim that the Ministry pursues with this program is to strengthen the teaching of Spanish and other subjects in primary and secondary schools in the United States, Canada and Australia.

The ISA curriculum includes common core subjects for all students and a specific component of Spanish language and culture. The curriculum has the peculiarity that most of it is taught in Spanish, in a percentage that varies according to the level: in primary it can reach 100% and it diminishes in higher level.

The schools that host the Spanish sections adhere to the ISA network through a collaboration agreement and receive support, advice and recognition through the Ministry of Education.
