The Spanish Language and Culture Heritage Programme (ALCE) is addressed to students of Spanish nationality (or descendants of Spanish nationals) of school age.
The ALCE program combines in-person and online learning. Students attend a 90-minute weekly lesson after school, Monday to Friday. The online component, also 90 minutes, takes place on the Aula Internacional (International Classroom) platform.
Classes are divided into levels of language proficiency (from A1 to C1) corresponding to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). They run for a maximum of ten years in total.
At the end of the programme, on passing a final test, students obtain a Level C1 Certificate of Spanish Language and Culture, issued by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports.
There are more than 300 schools in 12 countries, managed through 14 clusters (ALCE).
